Our Story

Coffee roasting has been our founder's garage obsession for years. After regularly bringing bags of roasted coffee to parties and gatherings, an idea emerged: bring both the coffee and a way to brew it.

Taking inspiration from a painter's pochade box (a sort of traveling painter's kit), a backpackable pourover system was invented.

The real test was during a series of camping trips in Marfa, the mountains of Taos, and Colorado. One morning, as friends recovered from a night of music and mayhem, freshly brewed pourover coffee was being enjoyed by the morning fire.

One friend observed the pourover baskets resembled tiny UFOs … and the name stuck!

Today, the art of roasting specialty coffee, the spirit of the outdoors, adventure, and getting it in your world remains our focus. We even have a cool new coffee shop on wheels!
