Experiments in Roasting, Camping, and Sharing with Friends

After years of experimental roasting and bringing bags of coffee to parties and camping trips, an idea hit: why not bring both the coffee and a way to brew it? We needed something more portable — something like a proper to-go kit for multiple cups and people. 

Taking inspiration from a painter's pochade box (a painter’s travel kit), a backpackable pourover coffee system was made. Several camping trips later through the Big Bend, Taos, and Colorado .. the mobile coffee system was refined, and ultimately had become part of the gear. 

On one hazy morning over a breakfast campfire, someone observed the pourover baskets resembled UFOs. “Line ‘em up” they said. 

UFO Coffee & Tea was created not long after. Today the same spirit rides with us in our hospitality, our roasted beans, our product offerings, and now our remodeled 1974 Airstream  traveling coffee shop! Come join us!
